July 21 — Having received almost 100 complaints of racial discrimination against Guide Corp., the director of the Anderson Human Relations Department hopes to resolve the cases within 30 days. According to a city spokesperson, Guide had not been formally put on notice of any suits filed over its hiring practices.
July 23 — Members of the Anderson Police SWAT Team visited the Paradise Escort Service and came away with drugs, a ledger listing customers and the 25-year-old alleged proprietor of the service. The 9:30 p.m. evening raid at 2437 Pearl St. pleased neighbors, who turned out to applaud as police searched the house.
